Celtic Hearths Bronze

In recognition of the 1916 Easter Rising centennial we have created this commemorative triptych in bronze. On the left we remember those who fought and died as a result of the events that occurred during that fateful Easter week.

The encircling Celtic rope knot represents the endurance of their memory into time immemorial. In the center is the map of Ireland with its thirty two counties in bronze with patina. All of the maps are cast in bronze and then an acid and saline solution is applied numerous times for a chemical reaction that results in a unique green colored finish. Please note: The maps vary in color from a yellowish green to a bluish green. No two maps are exactly alike as a result of the patina process thus ensuring a unique and one of a kind map upon completion. On the right is the national symbol of Ireland the harp. The sculpting of this bronze piece was inspired by the harp on the old Irish coins in circulation in the last century. Again the harp is surrounded by a Celtic Rope knot which signifies the endurance of our heritage, always and forever. The three pieces of work are mounted on an integral five piece matting shadowbox in a hardwood mahogany colored frame. The outside dimensions of this frame are 16 inches high by 32 inches wide. All of the bronze pieces are sculpted in depths varying from 3 mm to 6 mm. Enjoy with pride.
